General Meeting

Waterloo Rifle & Pistol Club

23 Members Representing 10 Clubs Guests: Tim Noga - Region 7 NYSCC Meeting called to order by Vice President Gary Chave at 7:35 pm.

Minutes: Minutes reviewed. Motion made to accept.

Motion carried Treasurer: Accounts Reviewed. Motion made to accept.

Motion carried.

Correspondences: Petition passed to support Big Game License for 14 & 15 yrs. old youths to hunt. Petition will be included in newsletter and sent to every club. Address is on petition and should be sent there.

FWMA: No report.

Fish and Game Report: Fliers passed out.

NYSCC

Bill Dadson gave a report on Spring Conference. A lot of talk on allowing 14 & 15 year old to hunt. Down state legislators do not know when youths are able to hunt.

Next conference, we should have 13, 14-and 1 5 year olds accompany group to talk with legislators about why it is important to encourage youths to be active in the environment, hunting, fishing, etc.

Tim Noga - NYSCC Region 7

Senator Nozzolio is concerned about hunting on old Seneca Army Depot site. More information to follow.

Cross Bow Hunting addressed in a Legislative Bill with DEC, but no cross bow hunting yet.

Pheasant populations and farms addressed.

Wetlands conservation addressed. Possibly reducing funding.

New Commissioner will be named next month by Governor Pataki. Not known yet who it will be.

License sales are down 50,000.

Deer season proposals due out around March 30th.

Muzz1eloader - Southern Zone only: Primitive 3 days early season. Late season 9 days. More information to follow.

Old Business:

Annual Banquet: Raffle Tickets are selling with great expectations. All Clubs were sent 5 Dinner Tickets. If anyone needs dinner tickets contact any of the Banquet Committee Members: Mark White, Bill Dadson, Ed Mitchell, John Andrews, Karen Burlingame, Tom Grasek, and DeLoss Stuck. Annual Banquet is at South Seneca on April 21, 2005. Cocktails at 6:00 pm, Dinner at 7:00 pm. Steak Dinner this year.

Remember, to bring a Raffle Prize from every club or send $25.00 and the Federation will purchase it for you. Some of the clubs have already sent in money or brought in a Raft1e Prize. Kenny Poorman is asking, if you can, please bring in your Raffle Prize early at the April meeting at South Seneca on April-19. This way he and Bill Dadson can set up early.

All Gun Raffle Prizes were brought in at the meeting to be inspected by the membership.

Seneca Army Depot:

Hunting on depot is still a concern to the Federation. More details will follow.

New Business:

Finger Lakes National Forest has sent their fishing date for May 2, 2005 at Potomac Ponds. Members of the Finger Lakes Conservation Club are already planning to camp out the night before to insure that the kids, ages 3 - 12, will have a great day of fishing. Last year they had to chase away some adults from trying to fish in the early morning hours. Thanks guys.
